British Section Holiday Weekend 2015

In September, twenty-four IFL members attended a holiday weekend in the historic town of Lichfield, once the home of Samuel Johnson (whose Dictionary of the English Language was published in 1755), Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles Darwin), and the famous Shakespearean actor David Garrick. On the Sunday we visited the National Memorial Arboretum, a 150 acre site planted with over 30,000 trees in commemoration of all who lost their lives in the service of their country during the wars of the last century. It was a very moving experience and it reminded us that the importance of international friendship is as great as it ever was.
